Senhor Rooster Portuguese Restaurant
Our Restaurant
At Senhor Rooster, Chef Daniel makes his own piri piri sauces from scratch just like his mother used to make in her kitchen in Angola. He only uses the freshest ingredients while creating his wonderfully tasty sauces. We offer the classic piri piri sauce plus a variety of other sauces including Mango, Jalapeno and Strawberry Red Wine. All sauces are available for sale at the restaurant, just ask your server.

Piri-piri, peri-peri or peli-peli is the name used in the ex-Portuguese colonies of Mozambique and Angola to describe the African bird's-eye chili. The variations in spelling derive from the various pronunciations of the word in parts of Africa,
although "piri-piri" is the correct spelling in Portuguese. Piri-piri is widely used in a vast number of dishes of Portuguese.

In areas of West Africa, they make a sauce from dried and soaked piri-piri chillies that is a staple condiment used to accompany many West African soups and stews. Though the origin of this sauce is probably Portuguese, it is now
well established as a popular West African condiment and is considered an essential accompaniment to any meal in many households.
One visit can't do justice to the wonders that await, from prawns piri-piri to crab cakes,
pork and clams to baby back ribs as well as specialty items like paella or the mariscada seafood platter.
